Tandem Skydives - jump from up to 13,000 feet!

Our most popular course - and one that is guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing! You will exit the aircraft securely strapped to the front of your Instructor (as shown on the adjacent video) who will control the free fall element of your skydive, open the parachute for you at around 5000 feet, and then steer your parachute safely back to the landing area for a controlled landing. |
North London Skydiving Centre consistently completes more Tandem Skydives each year than any other centre in the UK. We operate fast / high capacity aircraft (such as our De Havilland Twin Otter which can drop over 500 skydivers each day, or our GAF Nomad N22B which can drop over 260 skydivers each day) and benefit from perhaps some of the best UK weather conditions due to our easterly location. We are also recognised by Sport England as a Significant Area for Sport.

Our competitive prices are as follows...
£165 per person on Wednesdays and £200 per person on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

In addition, any participant completing a tandem skydive with us who then wishes to go on and train to become a qualified skydiver may deduct the full price paid to us for their initial Tandem skydive from our £395 Tandem to Accelerated Free Fall conversion course (TAFF) - which is a replacment for AFF Level 1 involving some class room work and a more structured second tandem skydive.
North London Skydiving Centre pioneered the TAFF training system in the UK.
For that extra special service / event we can also open the airfield for you privately on a day that we would normally close for an additional £4995 per day. If this is of interest please let us know.
All prices quoted on this page include club membership, the mandatory temporary membership of the British Parachute Association and third party insurance cover for £5,000,000 as well a separate payment to the instructors who provide their services independently.
Air to air videos start from £80 and can be organised on the day. Alternatively you're welcome to bring your own cameras and film free of charge from the spectators area.

Course Duration
Please allow one full day. Our airfield planning permission allows us to fly from 9am to 8pm (or dark) on a daily basis and it's always advisable to arrive early as we operate on a first come first served system. The office doors open at 8am on Wednesdays, or 7.30am at weekends, or 8.30am at other times.
Restrictions and conditions
The maximum weight limit for Tandem skydiving is strictly 16 stone (clothed with shoes). However, anyone over 15 stone (clothed with shoes) will be asked to pay an extra £10 to cover the additional work load for the instructor. Reasonable height to weight ratios and levels of fitness also apply - which please note are a little more stringent for women weighing over 13 stone.
All participants are required to sign a tandem student declaration of fitness form on arrival. Anyone with a listed medical condition or aged 40 or over will need to get this form signed / stamped by their doctor and to bring it with them on the day.
Anyone under the age of 18 will require the same declaration form to be witnessed by a parent or guardian in addition to providing parental consent on a BPA membership form.
The minimum age is 16. There is no upper age limit for this course.
Weather
We can jump in clear conditions with winds of 20 knots (23mph) or less. If the weather prevents your jump from taking place as planned you will be given a Tandem jump ticket which you can then use to rebook your jump for any mutually convenient occasion within a six month period - thus allowing ample time to complete your jump at no extra cost!
Please note however that as all the services needed to make your jump have to be provided irrespective of the weather all fees are non-refundable.
We also offer a residential course whereby for an additional fee you can stay at the airfield on a continuous basis for as long as it takes to get your jump completed. If this is of interest please let us know. The total price is £295 per person - which includes accommodation and the above jump fees.
Clothing required
Normal casual clothes such as jeans and trainers are ideal. Everything else is provided. Goggles are also available for those wearing glasses or contact lenses.
Spectators
Are more than welcome but please do warn them that skydiving is an "all day" activity.
Food and Drink
Is available throughout the day, however alcohol is not allowed to be consumed whilst parachuting is taking place - although there is a club bar which opens once the last flight of the day has landed.

Is available to those wishing to stay overnight. Please see the accommodation page

A £50 non refundable deposit per person will be required to initially reserve the places (which can be paid by most credit or debit cards if required) with the balance then due 13 days or more prior to the date requested.
