"Two day" Square Parachute "Static Line" Course with jumps from 3500 feet!

A course for those wishing to learn how to jump on their own. First jumps are made from 3500 feet using a static line - a system which automatically deploys your main parachute as you fall away from the aircraft and are the first stage of a training programme that could lead to you obtaining your licence. |
Having completed a minimum of six static line jumps (learning the art of falling away from the aircraft whilst practicing pulling a dummy rip cord handle) you could be ready for your first free fall.
Short 3 second delays first, then 5 second delays, then 10 second delays, then 15 second delays, and so on, each time building up your experience and jumping from higher and higher altitudes.
In a minimum of 18 jumps you could obtain your licence and qualify as a skydiver free falling on your own for approximately 70 seconds from altitudes up to 13,000 feet deploying your parachute to be open at 2000 feet.

All prices include the mandatory membership of the British Parachute Association and third party insurance cover for £2,000,000 as well a separate payment to the instructors who provide their services independently.
Additional training jumps cost £35.
All first jumps are videoed for debriefing purposes and copies can be purchased for £35 if required.

Course Duration
Please allow 2 full days. Our airfield planning permission allows us to fly from 9am to 8pm (or dark) on a daily basis.

Restrictions and conditions
Maximum weight limit is 16 stone. However participants mustn't be overweight in relation to their height, as per the table below. Reasonable levels of fitness also apply. (Tandem skydiving courses have a more relaxed weight limit).
All participants are required to sign a Solo student decleration of fitness form on arrival. Anyone with a listed medical condition or aged 40 or over will need to get this form signed / stamped by their doctor and to bring it with them on the day.
Anyone under the age of 18 will require the same declaration form to be witnessed by a parent or guardian in addition to providing parental consent on a BPA membership form. (You can download the forms by clicking the links) The minimum age is 16. The upper age limit is 55.

Weather
You can jump in clear conditions with winds of 15 knots (17mph) or less. If the weather prevents your jump from taking place as planned you may return on any mutually convenient occasion at no extra cost within a 3 month period from your initial training date. Additional jumps should also not be more than 3 months apart.

Clothing required
Normal casual clothes such as jeans and trainers are ideal. Everything else is provided. Goggles are also available for those wearing glasses or contact lenses.

Spectators
Are more than welcome but please do warn them that skydiving is an "all day" activity.

Food and drink
Is available throughout the day, however alcohol is not allowed to be consumed whilst parachuting is taking place - although there is a club bar which opens once the last flight of the day has landed.
